Whether it’s a doctor, a tutor, or a physical trainer, in the “real world” we use one-on-one consulting to resolve many of the important issues that we face throughout life. Yet when it comes to something like marketing, we often forget that a more experienced perspective can often give us the tiny push we need to ultimately overcome whatever obstacles or points of confusion that we face. When you hire me for a one-on-one consulting session we can go over anything that you want to go over at all. We can look at troubled campaigns and diagnose where they are going wrong, discuss who you should be targeting, or even listen to your music together and help refine your brand. Anything at all!
It’s well known that most consultants inflate their prices to reflect the sporadic nature of this type of work. However, I intentionally keep my prices low so they are affordable to musicians and they reflect the approximate amount of money my business generates per working-hour. So in short, I charge for my time with no intended mark up. Currently that price is $197 per hour. Usually a single hour is all that is needed.

As a general rule I am available between 2pm and 7pm Pacific time, Sunday – Thursday. This of course can vary. If a day/time is available you will see it posted as a blue link in the call scheduler.
I try to be pretty easy going with these sorts of things. But the reality is that if you book the time and don’t show up, I will have lost the ability to fill it with another session or be productive with other work during that time slot. However, if you cancel your session within at least 4 hours of our scheduled time we can reschedule at no additional charge. However, if you cancel with less than 4 hours notice, or just don’t show up at all, your booking will not be refunded. If a new time is needed, payment will be required for that second meeting time.
If you want to share campaigns or music we will need to use Skype for the session (Skype is free if you don’t already have it). I recommend using a desktop computer for this rather than a mobile device. Skype has a handy screen and system sound sharing option which will allow you to share your screen or any sound that you can play on your computer. This will allow you to walk me through any creative elements you want to share.
Anything you want me to review aside from a quick link to a song or two needs to be reviewed during our session. Reviewing content can take longer than one might expect, and because research takes me away from my other work obligations, I need to charge for that time as well.
Normally one hour is all that is necessary. However, if you have a lot you want to go over we can extend our session into a second or third hour and I can invoice you for the additional time after the fact. However, this will only be possible if the slots following your session are not filled with other obligations. To insure that the time is available you can book additional hours.
Unfortunately, no. The minimum time you can book is one hour. If our call runs under an hour you will not be refunded for the remaining time (though this has never happened). The reason I have this policy is simply because consulting sessions create a break in my normal workflow, and it becomes uneconomical to dedicate time to a slot that is shorter than one hour.
