F@*k The Record Labels! Learn How To Create Your Own Success In The Music Business. Anyone Can Do It. You Just need To Know How!
From John Oszajca
Hi, you may or may not have ever heard of me, but in 1999 I got signed to what was said to be one of the largest new artist record deals in the history of the music business. I experienced every musician’s dream-come-true of signing a major label contract, touring the country and receiving radio and video airplay across the world, only to be dropped a year and a half later because ultimately my album didn’t sell enough copies.
But I didn’t stop there. I persevered and in fact managed to land two more major label deals only to see the release dates come and go, each time with even less effort on the labels part than the album before.
The wheels on my career all but slowed to a stop. It had begun to seem like my career was nearing the end of the line. I decided I had one more album in me that I just had to put out. I recorded it for a mere $7,000 and decided I would just release it on an indie label with no expectations whatsoever. The album was released and it did as you might expect an album to do on a small label with almost no financial support. It did poorly.
But Then Something Happened…
Having accepted the fact that my music career was more or less finished I started looking in to other ways to make money. Uninterested in getting a “real job”, a got suckered in by one of those flashy headlines that promise to teach you how to “make a million dollars on the internet while you sleep” headlines that you see on web sites… well, websites like this one.
I bought the course for about $200 and after reading it, got myself all worked up over the prospect of making mountains of cash for almost no effort at all. I applied the techniques, which basically involved paying for advertising to promote affiliate offers, and low and behold, it worked. Well, actually, it kind of worked. Much to my surprise I sold a few products, but unfortunately I had to spend almost as much as I made on advertising to get the sales. And to make matters worse, the investment was substancial and so too was the risk.
It was fairly obvious that the course I bought was not going make me millions of dollars, and while I soon abandoned the system laid out in the course, it did give me hope. I saw that you COULD sell things online in considerable volume, however, I also realized that to make money it was going to be a matter of bringing down costs and increasing results. And so, just as I had, time and time again with music, I persevered.
I spent more than a year reading everything I could get my hands on about internet marketing, I spent thousands of dollars on courses, coaching and software, and little by little, it began to pay off. Slowly but surely, I worked my way up from zero to over $7,000 a month selling a variety of products online. It was extremely difficult to figure the whole system out, but it worked, and frankly I was amazed.
Ah, but I bet you want some proof that I actually know what I’m talking about right?
Fair enough. Below is a screen shot of the monthly income from just one of my online businesses – I have several.
So naturally, once my finances were in order I began thinking again about music. Heck, I figured, if I can sell information products online, why can’t I sell music? So I dusted off the box of CDs I had in the back of my closet and began an internet music marketing campaign in the hopes of resurrecting my career.
Then Suddenly I Realized Something…
I asked myself, why do all of the things that I’m selling sell? The answer almost universally was that my products were selling because they solved problems. People needed to improve their credit, they paid for the solution. People needed to know how to cook a meal, they paid for a recipe book. If they needed to know how to be better in bed, they’d pay for that as well. But the problem with marketing music online was that music didn’t solve any particular problem. No one was waking up in the morning saying to themselves, Man, I wish I had John Oszajca’s CD, my life would be so much better.
And so it became clear that if I was going to sell music online, I was not only going to have to present my music as a solution to a problem, but I was going to have to educate the public to the fact that they even had a problem at all, which in this case was that they were missing out by not having my CD in their collection.
Once I figured That Out I Began To Sell Albums…
After a few months of tweaking and testing I had developed a system for generating free traffic and a simple method that allowed me to capture the contact information of a high percentage of people who visited my site. Within no time I had an email list of thousands of people; in fact it’s still growing as we speak. Once I had done that I was able to build a relationship with my fans that ultimately gained their trust and support, which in turn resulted in a huge increase in record sales. And the best part is, nearly the entire system is automated.
Look, I’m not going to bulls@*t you and tell you that if you buy my course you are going to make millions overnight, you’re not. But I have been around. I’ve had some huge successes in the music business and I’ve had some huge failures. I’ve learned from some extremely huge names in this business, and most importantly of all, I have successfully used the techniques in this course myself and can sincerely tell you that they have lead to a dramatic increase in sales and an explosion of new fans and activity in my music career.
In My Opinion This System Is The Absolute Best Way There Is To Make It In The Music Business. Period.
Whether you are 14 or 40, experienced or a complete beginner, applying the system laid out in Music Marketing Manifesto will teach you step-by-step, everything you need to do in order to set yourself up for success. If you go the major label route, get ready for one hell of a big mountain to climb.
Illegal downloads have shrunken profit margins so significantly that the major labels can no longer take the same chances they once could. Without a launching pad like American Idol or some horrible reality TV show, it’s going to be really tough to get a label to take a chance on an unknown commodity. That being said, if you do want to try and beat the odds and get a major label record deal, the best way to do that is by becoming an independent success first. This course can help you do that.
